Fiik Drifter Review:
Incredible! I went into research-geek mode for a year+, and after considering everything, I discovered that the Fiik Drifter is the uncontested, best rear-wheel drive, electric Drift Trike on the market. I love speed, and even with its Epic Alpha-status, before I received my Drifter, I was thinking I may need to easily mod it for faster speed. After 1 ride in, I discovered I don't. At full-send in Speed 4, my first ride was a mix of high-adrenaline excitement + borderline scary = just what I wanted! If it ain't fast, it ain't fun. This thing is fast and even with the Drift Sleeves on, I can approach 30 miles per hour on the flat, which feels closer to 100 mph since you're 4 inches off the ground. It does not lack for speed! (If I want more speed in a year or two, I'll start by just installing bigger wheels onto the back, but I'm enjoying every moment now and right outta the box. To keep my Drifter 'on the road' even longer, I took it into my local specialty Bike Shop, who thought it was cool, and had them add a thorn-proof tire upgrade to the front pneumatic wheel, just in case). This thing is also big. I'm 6 foot 2, and don't even need the seat all the way back, which is awesome! The 4 different speeds are great for a variety of users, ages, and entry-levels. I tell my young nephews they can drift in Speed 1 and Sprint in Speed 2. Every kid who rides it immediately wants to get their own. (My cousin in the military even said 'That's nuts!' after being impressed with its drifting, speed, power, and performance). Speed 4 is perfect for Adult sprint mode in a path with no tight turns, while Speeds 2-3 are optimized for drifting. It's not too heavy at about 77 lbs with the 12 lb battery installed. I can load and unload into and out of my truck when I want to take it somewhere. It's quiet, sleek, minimalistic, covert, and has the newer black-anodized motor housings, which I wanted. I live in a subdivision, with a school parking lot nearby, which is perfect! Anywhere you see concrete or asphalt, these areas are magically transformed into your Drifter Playground. The sky is the limit! At first glance from a distance (and especially if you put free-spinning cranks on it) it's not clear if it's motorized or not, which is another plus. Different kinds of asphalt surface affect drifting, which makes the whole experience dynamic, changeable, diverse, and fun! I short-raced my uncle in his Tesla, and he said I got to up 30 mph! It's not super cheap, but Epic Alpha status never is. It's reasonably priced in comparison, especially when you consider all the R and D, the rising costs of building something equal yourself, and other flagship electric recreational mobility options in other platforms, like the Baja Board, which can cost $4k-$5k.
Big thanks to the incredible staff of Epic Wheels for answering my countless questions, for resolving a minor issue that came up, for commendable customer service, for making these available, and for spreading smiles across the USA! This is not a toy for toddlers, and you're never gonna find this at Walmart. It's probably my most fun purchase of all time! Even my family members who initially made fun of me for getting one, now love it, smile big while drifting on it, and have been converted by the Fiik Drifter lol. Their smiles and repeat rides don't lie. This is basically a Big Wheels on Steroids ... for Fully Grown Adults. This is flagship Epic electric recreation, and you should definitely get one. (This is also the same Drift Trike Will Smith rode and bought 6 of). If Batman had a Drift Trike, this would be it!
